Great Musician, as I settle into this Lenten season, guide my path. Give me the wisdom and the strength to leave behind the things that distract or discourage. I want more open space in my life. I want more open space for you. Amen.

DAILY QUESTION The psalmist prays, “Create in me a clean heart, O God” (Ps. 51:10). What is your prayer for yourself this Lenten season?
PRAYER Holy God, I could pray for you to create in me a clean heart. I could pray for you to wipe away my distractions. I could pray for you to settle my spirit on the side of joy. I could pray for peace in the world and peace with me. I could pray for an abiding sense of your presence—like a shadow at my heels. I could pray for all of these things, and so I will. God, hear these prayers. Take them all. Be with me. Amen.
